Short answers to the questions we get asked most — halal status, shelf life, delivery, heating, and OEM services. Each answer links to a full article if you want the detail.

About our food

Is DapoGo food halal?

DapoGo states that all of its products are 100% halal, and we cook in our own factory inside Melaka Halal Hub — a dedicated halal industrial park in Serkam, Melaka. To understand what halal certification actually covers and how to verify any product yourself, read is ready-to-eat food halal?

How long does DapoGo food keep?

Our published specification: up to 24 months at room temperature, no refrigeration needed. That comes from retort processing — the food is cooked and sterilised inside its sealed pouch. The full explanation is in how long does retort food really last?

Are there preservatives in it?

Retort processing sterilises food with high heat inside a sealed pouch, so the keeping power comes from the process, not from chemical preservatives. We explain how that works — and how it differs from food that “keeps because of additives” — in this article.

How do I heat it?

Easiest: submerge the pouch in boiling water for 3–5 minutes. You can also empty it onto a plate for the microwave, or reheat it in a pan. The full guide, including common mistakes, is at how to heat retort food right.

Does it actually taste like proper Malaysian cooking?

Our recipes are kampung dishes — rendang, sambal tumis, asam pedas, gulai — cooked properly, then packed. Some textures do change slightly compared with freshly made food; we are honest about that in our rice sets review and the DapoGo dish guide.

Ordering & delivery

Where can I buy DapoGo products?

Directly at dapogo.com, on Shopee, TikTok Shop and Lazada, through our WhatsApp catalogue — and in the United Kingdom through Halal Street UK. Buying direct at dapogo.com gives you the full range of 54 products and current combos. Browse our shop.

Can I get DapoGo in the UK?

Yes — DapoGo products are carried by Halal Street UK, which serves the Malaysian and Muslim community in Britain. Because retort food needs no cold chain, it travels well; that is exactly what it was designed for.

What payment options are there, and how is delivery calculated?

At dapogo.com checkout you can pay by online banking (CHIP/toyyibPay), and Cash On Delivery is available in covered areas within Malaysia. Delivery cost is calculated at checkout by location and weight — standard couriers, since no refrigeration is needed.

What if there is a problem with my order?

Our full policy is on the Refund and Returns Policy page. The fastest route for any order issue is WhatsApp: +60 11-5501 3391 with your order number.

About the products

I can’t handle spicy food — what should I order?

Start with soy-based dishes like Ayam Kicap Berempah or Daging Kicap Berempah, Kuah Kacang Nenek (peanut gravy), or a rice set like Nasi Briyani Ayam Batu Pahat. Our sambal guide sorts everything by heat level.

How big is one pouch?

The size is in every product name — most dishes are 180gm–350gm (typically one to two servings), rice sets 220gm–530gm. Combo bundles group several pouches at bundle pricing, from RM45 to RM122.

What is the heat pad add-on?

A flameless food warmer — useful for travel, hiking or anywhere without a kettle or microwave. It is optional; at home, hot water does the job. See the Heat Pad (RTE food warmer).

OEM & co-packing for businesses

Can DapoGo manufacture my recipe under my brand?

Yes — that is our co-packing service. You hand over the recipe, we cook and retort-pack it at our factory in Melaka Halal Hub, and the product ships under your label. Details on the OEM & co-packing services page.

What does OEM cost, and what is the minimum order?

It depends on the recipe, pack size and volume — every product is different. We break down the cost structure and the questions worth asking any factory in halal food OEM in Malaysia: real costs, MOQs and lead times. For real numbers on your product, contact us directly.

How long does the OEM process take?

Five steps — consultation, sampling, specification sign-off, production, delivery — with timelines depending on your product’s complexity. See the 5-step OEM process for what happens at each stage.
