The DapoGo OEM Process: 5 Steps From Your Recipe to the Shelf

Updated 21 Ogos 20262 min readBahasa Melayu

From first conversation to finished product: (1) consultation and recipe, (2) sampling and taste tests, (3) specification and volume sign-off, (4) production and retort packing, (5) delivery. Below, each step is laid out with what you prepare and what we do — so there are no surprises mid-journey.

Step 1: Consultation & recipe

You bring: your recipe (or key ingredients), and the short story of your product — who buys it, where it sells today, and the volumes you have in mind.
We do: assess whether the recipe suits retort processing — gravy- and oil-based dishes like rendang, curries and sambal usually come through well — and recommend a pack format. If a different format would serve your product better, we say so early; see retort vs frozen vs vacuum.
Timeline: 1–2 days

Step 2: Sampling & taste tests

You bring: time to taste, and honest feedback.
We do: cook a small batch of your recipe, pack it through the actual retort process, and hand it to you to test — because the post-retort taste is what your customers will get, not the taste out of the pot. We iterate until the flavour profile is signed off.
Timeline: around 2 weeks

Step 3: Specification & volume sign-off

You bring: decisions — pack size, first order volume, and your brand’s label design.
We do: lock a written specification: final recipe, sizes, volumes, pricing and schedule. Everything on paper before production begins. Cost and MOQ questions are answered in halal food OEM costs in Malaysia.
Scope: up to three rounds of recipe revision before the specification is locked

Step 4: Production & retort packing

You bring: nothing — this phase is ours.
We do: cook to the locked specification at our factory in Melaka Halal Hub, pack into retort pouches, and sterilise every pack. What comes out keeps at room temperature with no cold chain.
Timeline: 1–2 months, depending on quantity

Step 5: Delivery

You bring: a delivery address — your warehouse, fulfilment centre, or elsewhere.
We do: ship the finished, labelled product. Because it is ambient, delivery uses standard logistics with no refrigeration cost — including for export routes.
Timeline: by location and volume.

Process questions we hear often

My recipe is confidential — is it safe?

Your recipe stays yours. Confidentiality terms can be discussed at consultation, before you disclose anything.

What if my recipe isn’t final yet?

Come with what you have. The sampling phase exists to refine it — but the core of the taste has to come from you, because you know your customers.

Can I start with a small first order?

First orders are subject to MOQ, which depends on the recipe and pack size — full production starts at 1,000 pouches per SKU, while a market-test trial batch can go as low as 200 units. We give you real numbers at consultation.
